+Utilizing Matterport's Highlight Reel and Guided Tour Feature
Matterport, the company that has revolutionized the 3D experience and is the powerhouse behind HomeVisit's 3D technology, has now added new features and functionality to it's already stellar product. The two new features they've launched are called the "Highlight Reel" and the "Guided Tour". It's intentions are to give users additional ways to capture the attention of potential clients. Follow along for an indepth look at each feature.
If you've ever navigated your way through a 3D model, you're most likely familiar with the process of moving your mouse and selecting scan points to direct you through the property. If you haven't had that chance, check out our gallery of 3D models here! These new features aim to ease the navigation process by giving the client an overview of the property highlights with less work on their part.
The first feature we'll discuss is the Highlight Reel. The Highlight Reel will allow you to capture a particular room or area of the property, label it and sequence additional screen captures. Once you have it set up, clients will have the option to click the "Highlights" tab within the model and there, they'll be able to view those highlighted areas you've set up for them. It works by fading in and out of each highlight. As seen below:
The second feature we'll discuss is the Guided Tour. If you want a little something extra for potential clients, the Guided Tour feature is the way to go. It is configured the same way as the previous highlights function, however, it will actually allow you to create a tour of those captured rooms so the client can click the rooms and are literally "guided" from room to room (versus the previous fade in and fade out transitions). With both features, clients will have the option to navigate throughout the model as they wish but will have direct access to the highlights you've provided for them. Both features are a great way to point out important areas to clients, ease the navigation process and make it quick for your potential clients to get a feel for the property.
